Equipping others
for the needs

of our City

We believe learning to live on mission happens through self- discovery,
the guidance of the Spirit, and being grounded in the collective
wisdom of community.

The Underground

Regular monthly team gatherings: Building Christ-centered community in worship, cultivating a culture of prayer and training our team to live sent as modern missionaries in an increasingly post-Christian culture. Are you interested in learning more or potentially being involved with the work of Commonwealth? Your first step is to email Aaron at aloy@commonwealthknox.org or
Erik at echandler@commonwealthknox.org . We would love to connect with you.

Calling Lab

We believe learning to live on mission happens through self- discovery, the guidance of the Spirit, and being grounded in the collective wisdom of community. The Calling Lab is a quarterly experience offered to intentionally explore how God has uniquely wired, gifted, and prepared us to join Him in His Kingdom.

Missionary Formation Residency

The residency through Forge America is a six-month journey with a small group from our community. It is created to equip ordinary followers of Jesus to live and pioneer as missionaries in the places they live, work, and play. The residency will include meeting together every other week as a cohort, an online curriculum of video and reading material, a monthly one on one meeting with a coach, and face to face training time with missional thought leaders from around the globe.

Missional Communities

In the summer of 2019, we launched our first Missional Community in the Colonial Village neighborhood of South Knoxville. A missional community is a committed group of Jesus followers, the size of an extended family (12-25), empowered by the Spirit, to participate in God’s mission of redemption in a particular neighborhood and/or network. In time, it will become our primary organizing structure as a church. As our team prepares together and as the Spirit leads, our dream is to see Missional Communities planted throughout the city of Knoxville.
